To highlight the existing architectural details of this home, we chose to reskin the exterior with black and white stucco along with durable and rich colored meranti wood siding. The addition of a two-story cantilevered outdoor living room and swim spa was a massive feat of engineering that involved building on a slope of fill that required steel piles driven 20 feet down. Our first step inside was tearing out dated wall-to-wall carpeting and replacing it with new gray washed wide plank hardwoods throughout. For the kitchen, we created a lot of hidden storage and extra work stations. We carried the fresh, modern aesthetic throughout the rest of the house with no surface left untouched.
