LUXURIOUS

MINIMALISM

Our mission was to strip away the bad 70’s vibe to highlight the house’s soaring ceilings and capture as much natural light as possible. The first task was to smooth coat the heavy texture on every wall and ceiling.  The living room lacked an anchor, so we added a new gas burning fireplace to ground the room and create a focal point. We ditched the dated wall-to-wall carpet and installed new hand scraped hardwoods while replacing the traditional stair railing with cables for a more contemporary look. Every surface inside and out was reimagined and each bathroom was given a major facelift. The biggest change was knocking down an obtrusive wall that blocked the kitchen from the rest of the house and adding high-gloss cabinets with dark wood accents and Carrara marble countertops. We were able to tuck in a new mudroom to catch the many shoes, coats, and backpacks that come along with a family of three kids.
